Gearing Up

For some ungodly reason, my brain woke me up at 5:30 this morning. So after feigning sleep for a couple of hours, I decided the time would be best spent doing work. I animated something! Well, started to. I'm working on a film based off of my trip to Annecy, France.

I know, it doesn't look like anything the 9 Old Men would be really proud of, but at least I'm working, right?
My desktop background is an image from Gilda Snowden, one of my favorite abstract painters from Detroit.

I also did this thing:

...which is the first test for my senior film. Again, it doesn't look like much, but I'm trying to see what I can do with a camera. Disregarding the fact that I have a regular digital camera (sans tripod) and my bedroom to work with, I think if I just keep testing, I'll come up with something interesting. Then when I do the same things with a really good camera, lighting, and a set--not to mention a tripod to keep the images still--, it will look 10x as cool.

  1. Hey there Jaz; I can relate to the "brain thang." Hey, at least you got it honestly. I'm still being tapped in the wee hours of the night to do my reading, journaling and sometimes just plain old being still. There's a unique peace that which allows me to hear my inner spirit receive its next assignment. So don't fight against it when the brain is tapping you on the head-unless you've told it to go to bed. In that case give it a 16bit but whoopin, and go back to sleep., Selah, Jimmi
