Mbombo I & II

In Kuban mythology, Mbombo was all alone at the beginning of the world. He had his children, but he was still lonely. His stomach ached and ached, until he threw up the sun, moon, and stars, which in turn created the earth as it is today. Mbombo also vomited up the animals and people.

This sounded like a fun myth, so I used it as the basis of my Monday night painting exercise. These companion pieces were made with ink, watercolor, and acrylic.
